Workers at the Wyre Forest sawmill informed me that the problem with the trees grown in the Wyre Forest are too wonky to fit through the sawmill. As a result around 80% of their Oak trees go for log wood. The question must be how can we use this wonky high quality wood in construction.
Initial thoughts are to use the whole tree in a rawer form or to use small lengths. Smaller lengths of timber will allow the trunk of the tree to fit through the sawmill.
